Tour de Kyushu 2023 – Oita Stage

This is a cycle road race approved by the UCI (International Cycling Union) that was decided to be held at the Kyushu Regional Strategy Council. Midas Communication operated the Oita stage of the first tournament. We played a critical role in the success of the race, from preliminary research to select the course, to traffic regulation, planning for the placement of security and sentries for race operation, and race-day operations.

OITA Cycle Festival
(Criterium and Urban Classic) (from 2020)

For several years, we have been entrusted with the overall management of the OITA Cycle Festival, which has become one of the nation's leading international races. The know-how of managing bicycle races is being put to use in the Tour de Kyushu, which is scheduled to take place in Kyushu in 2023.

Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay - Oita Prefecture operations

Operated the Olympic torch relay route in Oita Prefecture that connected the whole country. This was an unprecedented event, and in order to examine the uniqueness of Oita Prefecture, we also conducted inspections and surveys of multiple host prefectures to ensure that everything was done properly. Stage events were also held at the departure ceremony and arrival point, in an effort to build momentum for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

2019 Rugby World Cup Oita Spectator Transportation: Planning and Implementation

In a rarity for a local stadium, Oita hosted 5 games for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Midas Communications was put in charge of everything from considering spectator transport routes to shuttle bus operation plans and signage plans. On game days, we also provided instructions and management for several hundred operational staff. In particular, for this project, the Transportation Headquarters used state-of-the-art surveillance cameras at terminals and major intersections so that both organizers and headquarter staff could quickly assess the congestion status of shuttle buses and other traffic congestion in real time.

2002 FIFA World Cup - Oita Venue - Spectator Transportation Planning and Implementation

This was an epoch-making event for our company, signaling our first involvement in planning and operations related to mass transportation. Unlike rugby, to avoid confusion and potential clashes between opposing fans, traffic lines were separated at the boarding and alighting areas to ensure safe transportation.
